The Founding Fathers and Election Integrity.

In laying out the criteria for selecting the president, Alexander Hamilton (Federalist Paper 68, March 14, 1788) observes the critical importance that the process:

 • “afford as little opportunity as possible to tumult and disorder”…

 • “oppose … cabal, intrigue, and corruption”; and

 • “affords a moral certainty”
